Steven Bournazos Esq., and his firms verdict of $18,681,323.19, which was one of the highest in New York for 2011, was upheld on October 31, 2013 by the Appellate Division 1st department. Leave to appeal to the New York State Court of Appeals was denied on May 13, 2014. The pain and suffering portion of the award, $16,000.000.00, is the highest ever upheld in New York State history. With statutory interest the verdict had a value of over $24.5 million on May 13, 2014.
